July 03, 2024

Gerald William Henley, 41, passed away due to a sudden and unexpected medical episode on June 19th, 2024. He was born on March 4th, 1983, to Graylon “Bud” Henley and Sandra Ferguson Henley. Gerald was a tender-hearted, people person with a quick smile who loved unconditionally. He would help his family, friends and strangers with anything and everything that needed to be done. He was also an accomplished cook who enjoyed hosting barbeques. Gerald loved baseball and the Dallas Cowboys football team, but his favorite pastime was fishing with his sons for catfish on the various local bodies of water. Along with his children, Gerald was a lover of his dogs and cats. His love extended to scary movies as well. As was evident by the number of times he watched “Halloween” – and besides Christmas, Halloween was his favorite holiday. Gerald is survived by his wife, Michelle Evans Henley. They briefly dated in high school before reconnecting years later through Facebook. They were married on November 16th, 2010. In addition to Michelle, he leaves behind a large family including his parents, Buddy and Sandra; two sons, Haiden Wayne Merl Henley, and Jaxsyn Levi Henley; one daughter, Madison Paige McKenzie; one brother, BJ Henley; a slew of aunts and uncles; scores of cousins; and a host of other family and friends. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, James and Sarah Ferguson, and his paternal grandparents, James and Lottie Henley. A large crowd gathered at Fowler Funeral Home on Saturday, June 29th to celebrate Gerald’s life. Tribute video at www.fowlerfh.com
